The way of linda
When it comes to choosing a job, young people’s decisions are still very much influenced by gender norms and stereotypes. In this animation I made with two of my classmates and in cooperation with the music departement, we adressed this issue in a playful manner. The animation was made for the departement of equality in Zurich.

Description
When our class was approached by the Zurich departement of equality, two of my classmates and I decided to create a “info animation” that was a bit different that what we might be used to nowadays. We chose a playful 8-bit video game approach and worked together to communicate the message as clearly as we could.
We divided the work one of my classmates prepared all assets for after effects, the other handeled the music and the skript and while I worked on the skript too, I also made an animatic that we based our entire final animation on.
Animatic
This video showcases the animatic I made in about two days. It served as a point of reference for us when we animated the individual scenes. A click track can be heard too, which I used to sync the animation to the beat of the music that was going to be added later.
Because a 2D sidescroller in and of itself runs the risk of being a bit boring to watch, I worked with a lot of fast camera movements to emphasise important aspects of the animation and to make it more entertaining.
